The Unsuspecting

The Unsuspecting‘ is an all original jazz fusion affair featuring some of Australia‚Äôs best proponents of this style based domestically (Andrew Gander drums, Phil Turcio keys, Justin Humphries drums and Carlo Barbaro sax/bass clarinet) and internationally (Sean Wayland keys and Matt Clohesy bass).

Though jazz fusion based in performance style the post-tonal harmonic organisation drawings upon a wider remit of conception than that found in modern jazz. The majority of the album is in odd times and uses hyper metric concepts. Some the tunes are published in the Australian Jazz Real Book.
